Visceral fat is a kind of belly fat that is particularly dangerous because it puts you at a higher risk for diabetes, stroke and heart disease, and it causes you to age faster. And your visceral fat can easily triple as you transition from perimenopause to post-menopause. But you do NOT have to accept that as your reality. Aiming for at least 25g of fiber each day is one step towards reducing your belly fat.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 scoops vanilla protein powder

  • ¾ tsp fresh ginger

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk

  • ⅓ cup frozen cauliflower

  • ⅓ cup pumpkin, canned *NOT pie pumpkin

  • ¼ cup walnuts 

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon 

Directions for Pumpkin Spice Protein Smoothie

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Notes

Make it a Bowl - Top with chopped walnuts, pumpkin seeds, cacao nibs, hemp seeds or toasted coconut and reduce the almond milk.
