Butter Walnut Protein Ice Cream (Ninja Creami)

6 ingredients · 10 minutes · 1-2 servings

The Ninja Creami has changed my life. I’m not even joking. It makes the creamiest protein ice cream, with very few calories. This makes it SO EASY to get in an optimal amount of protein every single day.

And if you are in midlife (PS if you’re 35 or over, that’s you), you want to eat a protein-rich diet. Otherwise there’s a high probability that you will start to lose energy, gain fat and see muscle loss. This is because your protein needs increase, as your body doesn’t absorb protein as well, while your muscle becomes less responsive to it.

Finishing my day with a protein-rich treat helps me to hit my target of 130-150g of protein which supports my body while satisfying that craving for something comforting and sweet. And this Butter Walnut Protein Ice Cream is the perfect way to end a hot summer evening or cold winter night.

Directions for Butter Walnut Protein Ice Cream

  1. Add all ingredients except the walnuts to a large measuring cup or a blender. Blend until smooth. Use an immersion blender to combine everything if using a measuring cup.

  2. Pour the contents into an empty Creami pint. Close the lid & freeze on a flat surface for 16-24 hours.

  3. When ready for your ice cream, place the pint container in the outer bowl & install the paddle into the outer bowl lid. Lock the lid onto the outer bowl.

  4. Power on your Ninja Creami. Place the bowl on the Ninja Creami base & twist the handle right to raise the platform & lock it into place. Select ‘Ice Cream’.

  5. When processing is complete, open the lid & check the texture. If it’s too hard for you, respin for softer ice cream: open the lid, add a little bit of milk to the ice cream mix and reinstall the lid. Reinstall the bowl onto the machine & select ‘Lite Ice Cream’ or ‘Ice Cream’.

  6. When processing is complete, add the walnuts to the pint and place the pint back into the Ninja Creami. Press Mix-in button. Serve immediately.
