Air Fryer Radishes

Cooked radish: the undervalued hack for gut-supportive & low-calorie meals! Does raw radish give you tummy troubles? Cooking radish tames their heat & makes them easier to digest. Radishes are low in carbs but high in fiber, which helps to make you feel more satiated & maintain a decent daily poop. And at 25 calories for 1 cup, this is a great ‘volume food’ if you’re in a cutting phase.

As a natural antifungal agent, radish can help to bring balance to the gut & inhibit or kill candida. Candida overgrowth is a common culprit for things like gas, bloating, cravings & brain fog.

That’s not all! This cruciferous veggie contains compounds that decrease inflammation & support phase II liver detox which is key to detoxifying our bodies of toxins & waste. They’re also rich in potassium which helps to lower blood pressure.

You can use any variety of radish for this.

Directions

  1. Halve or quarter the radishes & toss with the oil & spices.

  2. Put them in your air fryer basket & cook at 380 degrees for 20 min or until tender, shaking halfway through.

  3. Remove from the air fryer & toss with freshly diced parsley. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 bunches or 1lb of radishes, scrubbed & trimmed

Notes

How to Serve - I love this is a side with my eggs, sauteed spinach & starchier root veggies like sweet potato or rutabaga. They’re super versatile too – dip them in ketchup like fries, toss them with some butter & chives or top with vinegar & salt!

Switch it Up - Use any variety of radish for this, any spice blend & any fresh herbs. You can also just go basic & only use olive oil & salt!
