Pressure Cooker Bone Broth

Why do I love bone broth? Because this superfood helps to repair the gut & supports weight loss, muscle growth, clear skin & less joint pain.

Here are a few of the rockstars you’ll find in broth:

  • Glutamine: Helps to repair & prevent a leaky gut (especially important for IBS & IBD)

  • Glycine: Key to digestion, detoxification, a good mood & memory & enhances muscle growth

  • Collagen & Gelatin: Supports hormonal balance, skin elasticity, energy, muscle repair & reduces inflammation & joint pain

Unfortunately, not all broth is made equal. You can get good broth, but it’ll be a bit pricey, which is why I like to make my own (plus it takes less than 5 min of active time!).

Directions

  1. Place your bones in the pot. Add enough water to reach just below the max line.

  2. Add in your vinegar & salt.

  3. Put the lid on, set the vent to sealing & cook at high pressure for 2-4 hours.

  4. Once the time is up, allow the pot to naturally release (or you can quick release it, but it will be messy!).

  5. Strain your broth into jars, containers and/or ice cube trays. I use this container for this purpose.

Ingredients

  • 2lb beef, chicken or turkey bones (ideally organic & pasture-raised, include a few drumsticks or wings to enhance the flavour)

  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • filtered water

Notes

How to Use It - Make soup or chili, drink a mug of it, make Protein Rice, use it to make oatmeal (you won’t even notice the ‘savoury flavour’ of the broth when you add in sweeter ingredients), use it to reheat veggies (freeze some in an ice cube tray for this!).
