Crispy Back Bacon Chips

2 ingredients · 10 minutes

Do you like to snack? Are you a fan of bacon? This is a perfect low-calorie & high-protein side to your eggs, or chip for your favourite dip!

Canadian bacon (aka back bacon) is low in calories but high in protein, making it a wonderful alternative to sausage or regular bacon for breakfast. As you may have heard me mention in the past, we want to include adequate protein at each meal to not only support our training goals & boost our metabolism, but to build the hormones & neurotransmitters that regulate EVERYTHING, including our mood, energy, sleep & hunger.

Directions

  1. Lightly spray your air fryer basket with avocado oil spray.

  2. Dry & then lay the bacon in a single layer in the basket. It’s ok if they’re crowded.

  3. Set the air fryer to 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

  4. After about 8 minutes, flip the bacon & continue to cook until it’s crispy. This usually takes around 10-12 minutes, depending on the thickness of the bacon & your air fryer.

  5. Serve in place of regular bacon or sausage, or use as a chip for dip!

Ingredients

  • 1 package Canadian bacon (aka back bacon)

  • avocado oil spray

Notes

Leftovers - This bacon stays crispy, even in the fridge! Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

How to Serve - This is a perfect side to eggs, potatoes & greens. Or use them to scoop up guacamole, salsa, or your favourite dip. Crumble over Caesar or spinach salad, or over sauteed greens.
