Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken
7 ingredients · 1 hour
Don’t want to waste a hot summer evening cooking? Make Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken! If you love juicy & delicious chicken with crispy skin, you’ll want to make this.
Sure, you could get in your car & wait in line for fast food, but this takes less than 5 min of prep time. It won’t heat up your house & it never fails, so there’s no need to babysit it, which means you can go outside & soak up the beautiful summer evening! And you can control what’s in it, helping avoid a lot of inflammatory ingredients that are commonly used in fast food and are known to impair digestion & recovery, as well as contribute to weight gain, pain & other health issues. I’m not suggesting you never eat fast food, but it’s helpful to not rely on it.
HOT TIP: I like to keep 1-2 chickens, as well as some leftover cooked rice or baked sweet potato in my freezer + a bag of greens in my fridge every week so I can put together a balanced meal (I’ll enjoy) with almost no effort on busy or beautiful summer evenings!
Directions
Combine the spices & oil in a small bowl.
Set your chicken in the air fryer basket & rub with the spice mix.
Air fry at 350 degrees, breast side down, for 30 min.
Flip & cook for another 25 min, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
Allow to cool enough to handle & serve. Enjoy!
Ingredients
4-5lb whole chicken
1 Tbsp Kosher salt
1 1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Notes
Make it more nutrient dense & flavourful - Source pasture-raised chickens to make this meal extra tasty & nutritious! Bringing your chicken to room temperature before roasting will also help it cook evenly.
Frozen Chicken - Only have frozen chicken? No problem! Follow the recipe as-is & increase the cooking time until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
Leftovers - Remove the meat from the bone & store in an airtight container to keep leftovers for up to 5 days in the fridge.
