Fresh Lime Margarita
5 ingredients · 5 minutes · 2 servings
What is the secret to making the best margarita? Use fresh citrus.
And yes, I have reduced my alcohol intake because let’s face it: alcohol is not supportive of health. But I still sip on a good cocktail & wine on occasion. And if I’m going to have a cocktail, it’s gotta taste really really good.
This margarita checks all the boxes for me:
-It’s delicious.
-It’s VERY low in sugar.
-It takes less than 3 minutes to make & requires no fancy ingredients.
-It’s refreshing on a hot summer day & makes me feel like I’m on a vacation in the winter.
I’ve had the most devout beer drinkers request this margarita, because, like I said, it’s delicious!
Directions
Salt the rims (optional): run a lime wedge around the rims of the glasses. Pour some Kosher salt onto a small plate & then dip the rim in the salt. Set aside.
Add the juices, tequila, stevia & pinch of salt to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds. Taste & adjust for sweetness.
Pour the mixture evenly between the 2 prepared glasses. Top with soda.
Add a lime wedge & enjoy!
Ingredients
2 oz lemon juice, freshly squeezed
2 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed
4 oz silver tequila (Cazadores is my favourite affordable tequila)
¼ tsp stevia, to taste
Good pinch Kosher salt
4 oz soda water
Lime & salt for rim & garnish (optional)
Notes
Make it a Mocktail! - Swap the tequila for non-alcoholic mezcal from Fluere.
Don’t like Stevia? - Swap the stevia for a little maple syrup or honey.
