The Classic Margarita (Low-Sugar Edition)
7 ingredients · 2 minutes ·2 servings
This fresh cocktail is my go-to once the weather starts to get a little warmer. It’s delicious, but very low in sugar helping to avoid a headache & belly pain the next morning. Plus it won’t ruin weight loss goals. To make this an amazing mocktail, simply swap out the tequila for Fluere Smoked Agave Non-Alcoholic Distilled Spirit (it’s shockingly similar to Mezcal & a Canadian company!).
Directions
Pour a little kosher salt onto a plate & set aside.
Slice the lime into quarters & cut a notch in each wedge. Grab 1 of the lime wedges & run the notch along the rim of 2 margarita or old-fashioned glasses. Tip the glasses over into the plate with salt & twist it around until you have a salty rim!
Fill the glasses with ice & set aside.
Now make your cocktails; add the juices, tequila, stevia & pinch of salt to a cocktail shaker & fill with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 15-20 seconds.
Strain evenly into the prepared glasses and top each one with 1oz of sparkling water. Garnish with a lime wedge. Enjoy!
