Quick Berry Sauce
This will take only a few minutes of your time (literally) & is a perfect alternative to syrup or jam but without the extra calories! Berries are full of antioxidants & help to reduce inflammation, which helps with overall health, including digestion, muscle recovery & weight loss. They are also a great source of fiber, which helps to balance our blood sugar and makes us feel more satiated, reducing cravings. Use this sauce with anything you’d serve with jam or syrup. I always have a container on hand when fresh berries are not in season, and I use it over pancakes, yogurt & oatmeal (or I just have a spoonful!). And when berries are in season, this is a great way to use up any extras you cannot get through!

Directions
Pour the berries into a pot over medium heat.
While they cook down, squeeze the lemon into a small bowl. Add in your arrowroot flour, vanilla & cinnamon and mix well with a small whisk.
Once the berries get saucy, shut off the heat, pour in your lemon mixture & stir well. Add pinch of salt & stevia to taste (if needed).
That’s it! Store in the fridge & serve over oatmeal, yogurt, pancakes, muffins – anything you’d eat with syrup, jam or berries!
Ingredients
3 cups of fresh or frozen berries
1/2 lemon
1 tbsp arrowroot flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp stevia powder (optional, to taste)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Notes
Leftovers - Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Berries - Use any variety. I like using a combination of blueberries, raspberries & strawberries or sometimes I go with 100% blueberries!
